Terms of Use
The rules for using Brewmate: what the service does, what is up to you and to us, plans, payment and cancellation.
Last updated: October 18, 2026
Acceptance
These terms govern the use of Brewmate, a service of NZK TECNOLOGIA LTDA ("NZK", "we"), by whoever creates an account and by the people that account invites ("you").
By joining the waitlist, creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy, and confirm that you are 18 or older and of legal drinking age where you live.
The service
Brewmate is an app for homebrewers and small breweries. It brings together recipes and their versions, Dynamic Recipes (which recalculate the recipe on brew day from the readings you type: pre-boil, post-boil and cold gravity, suggesting a boil-off adjustment or added water and correcting hops for the real alpha acid), the brew day guide in Essential and Complete modes, Brew Day Analysis (efficiency, absorption, boil-off and trub), a sensory forecast with 18 BJCP controls, fermentation tracking (°Plato and temperature), water and pH calculators, inventory and costs, a batch calendar, a brewing diary and tasting notes scored from 0 to 100.
Tilt, iSpindel and RAPT readings come in by file import, not by connecting to the device. Recipes come in from a Brewfather (JSON) or BeerXML file and go out as BeerXML. Brewmate is not affiliated with Brewfather, Tilt, iSpindel or RAPT.
Closed beta
Brewmate is currently in closed beta. Access opens in waves, in the order people joined the waitlist, and joining the list does not guarantee an access date.
During the beta, features may change, appear or go away, and bugs are more likely. Keep a copy of the recipes that matter to you; you can export them as BeerXML at any time.
Account and brewery
- You sign in with a link sent to your email, or with Google or Apple. Keep access to your email secure: whoever controls it controls your account.
- Each brewery is a workspace. The owner invites members and sets roles (owner, admin and member), and is responsible for what they do in the brewery. On the Brewer Plus plan, up to 3 people share one brewery.
- Only the owner manages the subscription.
- Account information must be true and kept up to date.
Acceptable use
You may not use Brewmate to:
- carry out any illegal activity or share illegal content;
- infringe the rights of others, including privacy and intellectual property, for example by importing recipes or files you have no right to use;
- get around plan limits or security measures, or access other breweries' data;
- overload the service with automated access;
- copy, resell or reverse engineer the service without written permission.
NZK may suspend access for anyone who breaks these rules, as described in Suspension and deletion.
Your content
The recipes, notes, batches and other content you create in Brewmate are yours. NZK uses them only to provide the service, as the Privacy Policy explains, and you can export your recipes as BeerXML at any time.
When you import Brewfather, BeerXML, Tilt, iSpindel or RAPT files, you confirm that you have the right to use what you import. Someone else's recipe remains theirs.
Calculations are estimates
Gravity, IBU, color, water chemistry, pH, carbonation, efficiency, brew day corrections and sensory forecasts are estimates made from models and from the data you enter. They help the brewer and do not replace your judgment, your own measurements or the instructions of ingredient and equipment makers.
Wrong readings, equipment that differs from its saved profile and ingredients outside their specification lead to different results. Check the numbers before you act on them.
Brewing safety and local laws
Brewing involves heat, pressure (when priming and carbonating in bottles or kegs) and alcohol. The safety of your brewing is your responsibility: use suitable equipment, bottles rated for pressure and good sanitation practices.
It is up to you to follow the laws where you brew on home brewing, labeling and selling beer. Selling beer usually requires registrations and licenses, and Brewmate grants none of them.
To the extent the law allows, NZK is not liable for lost batches, damaged equipment or injuries caused by how you brew, nor for decisions based solely on the app's estimates.
Plans and payment
- The Free plan costs nothing, forever, with no card: up to 10 recipes, calculators, BeerXML and Essential mode.
- The Brewer (R$ 149 a year) and Brewer Plus (R$ 249 a year, with multiple equipment profiles and fermenters, up to 3 people, history and brew logs as PDF, and priority support) plans are yearly subscriptions per brewery, priced in Brazilian reais and paid by card through Stripe. Each plan's limits are on the site.
- Current prices are launch prices and may change. Price changes apply from the next renewal and are announced in advance by email.
- An upgrade is charged at once, with credit for the unused time on the previous plan; a downgrade applies at renewal.
- Invoices and your card live in Stripe's billing portal, opened from the app's billing page.
- If a payment fails, the plan continues while new attempts are made; without payment, the brewery returns to the Free plan.
Cancellation and refunds
No lock-in: the owner cancels at any time, right in the app. The plan runs to the end of the year already paid, does not renew, and the brewery returns to the Free plan.
7-day right of withdrawal: because you buy online, you may withdraw within 7 days of subscribing, as Brazil's Consumer Defense Code guarantees. This also applies to each yearly renewal, if you ask within 7 days of the charge. Ask at contact@brewmate.io and we refund the full amount paid. Where your local law gives you a longer period, that period applies.
Outside that period, the year already paid is not refunded pro rata.
Suspension and deletion
When a paid plan ends, the brewery returns to the Free plan and nothing is deleted because of it. Whatever goes beyond the Free plan's limits stays available to read and export. If the brewery has more people than the plan allows, those without a seat lose access until a seat frees up.
You can ask for your account or, if you are the owner, the brewery to be deleted at contact@brewmate.io. The deletion is final, as the Privacy Policy explains; an active subscription is cancelled without a refund, unless you are within the withdrawal period.
NZK may suspend an account or brewery that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk, giving notice beforehand whenever possible.
Availability and support
We work to keep Brewmate available, but maintenance and outages can happen, including at providers the service depends on.
Support answers at contact@brewmate.io, and the people who make Brewmate are the ones who reply. Brewer Plus subscribers get priority.
Intellectual property
The software, the Brewmate brand and the site's content belong to NZK. Using the service transfers none of those rights. Suggestions you send us may be used to improve the product.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service changes, for example when the beta ends. The date at the top shows the version in force, and significant changes are announced by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Brewmate after that means you accept the new version.
